The Diablo IV team announced a new patch last week that includes gameplay updates and bug fixes for various issues. The patch is available for all platforms: PC, Xbox, and PlayStation. The patch notes can be found on the official Blizzard website.
Gameplay Updates
The gameplay updates focus on reducing the frequency and duration of crowd control effects from monsters and elite affixes, such as stun, chill, and freeze. The team stated that these changes are aimed at giving the player more recovery time after being crowd controlled, especially at higher world tiers.
Additionally, the team reduced the damage from some monster abilities, such as the fire enchanted explosion and the bloated corpsefiend’s charge.
Bug Fixes
The bug fixes address several problems with dungeons and events, quests, classes, UI/UX, and miscellaneous issues. Some of the notable fixes are:
- Dungeons and Events: An issue where nightmare dungeons could be repeated by promoting other party members to leader has been fixed.
- Quests: An issue where the Call of the Ancients quest would not progress if the party leader was dead when the boss was defeated has been fixed.
- Classes: An issue where the Caged Heart of Trickery’s shadow clone could be affected by crowd control effects and then transfer them to the player has been fixed.
- UI/UX: An issue where affixes on items would not sort consistently has been fixed.
- Miscellaneous: An issue where achievements, trophies, and challenges with shared unlock criteria across platforms would not transfer via cross-platform progression has been fixed.
The team also mentioned that they are working on making random affixes easier to compare and that they have updated some tooltips to clarify how certain effects work. The team thanked the players for their feedback and encouraged them to keep sharing their thoughts on the game.
